Northeastern University The John Martinson Honors Program empowers students to make a meaningful impact in the communities they inhabit through integrated academic pursuits and curated experiential learning. Our program values of Curiosity, Community, and Challenge comes together to form an intersectional and cohesive mission statement as unique as Northeastern’s itself. Honors’ work is centered on enhancing the student undergraduate experience – through academic, professional, and extracurricular opportunities, the Honors Program successfully delivers on three major outcomes: The Honors Enrichment Travel Award (HETA) HETA is a pilot Honors Award designed to cover specific expenses related to attending Domestic conferences for Honors Students determined by NU Student Financial Services as being of "High Financial Need". This is a non-reimbursement award. **Honors will directly purchase covered items for awardees. Honors will not reimburse funds. To ensure maximum access to HETA funds, students will only be allowed to receive ONE HETA Award each academic year. All students are encouraged to seek funding from other sources. HETA Covered Costs Conference Costs that HETA Will Cover are limited to: Stoking Intellectual Curiosity Creating a Thriving Honors Community Facilitating Self-Exploration and DiscoveryConference Registration Hotel Flights (Roundtrip-Economy) Total covered costs should not exceed $2000. Please note that your proposed flight/hotel may need to change in order to reasonably stay within your awarded total amount. Applicants should have a potential itinerary and are required to provide details, including costs, for all flights and/or hotels for which you request funding. Deadlines Applications are considered on a first-come first-serve basis and funds are limited. Thus eligible students should apply ASAP and: No later than FOUR WEEKS before flight/hotel check-in date, if requesting coverage of Flights and/or Hotel.No later than TWO WEEKS before the beginning of the Conference, if only requesting Conference Registration coverage.Applications submitted after these deadlines will not be reviewed.
