The Annette Raphel Scholarship for Leadership and Diversity

Established: 2016 to honor retiring Head of School Annette Raphel

Award: Three-year, full-tuition merit scholarship for incoming sixth grade students

Geographic Scope: Greater Boston area

Eligibility:

  • All applicants to sixth grade

  • Must live in the Greater Boston area

  • Must identify as African-American/Black or Hispanic/Latinx
  • Selection Criteria:
    Scholars are selected based on:

  • Strong academic potential

  • Leadership traits

  • Interest in contributing to robust arts and athletics programs

  • Demonstrated commitment to living Belmont Day School's six core values: honesty, caring, joy, responsibility, respect, and excellence
  • School Information:
    Raphel Scholars join a close-knit community with:

  • Challenging academics

  • Innovative group and individual projects

  • Small class sizes

  • Passionate teachers

  • All students participate in arts programming (studio art, music, drama, technology, woodworking)
