Geographic Scope: State of Texas only

Mission: The Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation encourages, fosters, supports and conducts activities and programs which benefit children residing within the State of Texas.

Focus Areas:

• Programs, projects and collaborative efforts that reach as many children as possible
• Supporting children's growth and development
• Building self-esteem
• Raising expectations
• Encouraging innovation

Grant Types:

• Program Grants: Typically up to $10,000
• Capital Grants: Up to $50,000

Eligibility:

• Organization must be exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
• Must serve children in Texas
• Grants are for organizations only; not available to individuals or for-profit organizations

What the Foundation Does NOT Fund:

• Economic development
• Annual fund fundraising
• Event sponsorships
• Political or lobbying activities

What the Foundation WILL Fund:

• Operating costs (when specifically related to Program Goals)
• Collaborative efforts (Foundation encourages these)

Important Notes:

• No established minimum or maximum grant amount, but typically makes small grants
• Rarely grants multi-year awards
• Only one grant application per organization per year
• Site visits may be conducted as part of evaluation process
• Grantee organizations must submit follow-up reports on fund use and program effectiveness

Deadline: April 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM

• No late submissions will be accepted

How to Apply:

1. Complete the online grant application
2. Submit through the official application portal

Evaluation Process:

• Foundation staff may request a site visit to:
  • Tour organization facilities
  • Meet with staff, trustees, and constituencies
  • Discuss data collection and program evaluation processes
  • Assess organizational capacity and effectiveness
  • Understand who will be served by the program
• Site visits are brief and informal; no need to provide entertainment

Post-Award Requirements:

• Grantee organizations must submit a follow-up report to the Foundation describing:
  • How grant funds were used
  • Level of effectiveness of the grantee program
