Youth Cabinet Grants

Funder: United Way of Amarillo & Canyon

Focus: Short-term or project-based initiatives that directly benefit youth or local schools.

Eligibility

• Local nonprofits, schools, and community groups with youth-focused projects
• Must align with United Way's mission and focus areas
• Must have a governing board in place

Program Details

• Funded and approved by the Youth Cabinet — a group of high school leaders passionate about improving the community
• Youth Cabinet members review applications, discuss community impact, and allocate funds based on project need and measurable outcomes
• Decisions are made by youth leaders, not staff, board, or adult volunteers
• Limit: Two applications per agency per cycle
• Award cap: $2,500 per application

• 2027 Youth Cabinet Grant Cycle: Opens Friday, January 1, 2027 | Closes Monday, March 1, 2027
