Overview:
Teens Teach Tech is a program that empowers teens aged 13+ to lead digital skills training in their communities. Participating teams offer hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentorship sessions, virtual sessions, and community events covering various digital skills. Connected Nation provides training materials, financial incentives, and mentor support.

Financial Support

Connected Nation provides start-up funds and financial incentives up to $4,000 per team.

Training Topics Offered

All topics are AT&T Connected Learning courses, approximately 60-90 minutes, ideal for in-person delivery:
  • Internet Basics: Web browsers, search engines, internet navigation, online search tips
  • Computer Basics: Managing applications, files, folders, Windows 10/Mac operating systems
  • Internet Safety/Cybersecurity: Safe website visits, identifying suspicious communication, password creation
  • Email Basics: Gmail account creation, sending, receiving, replying, organizing, recognizing suspicious communication
  • Mobile Device Basics: Android and Apple device navigation, basic functions, common apps, safe device usage
  • Videoconferencing: Zoom account setup, participant vs. host roles, key features

  • Minimum age: 13+ years (teens)
  • Need to form a team with at least 2 teens

How to Apply

Step 1: Express Interest
Fill out the Interest Form on the Teens Teach Tech program page

Step 2: Form Your Team
Gather 2+ teens who want to participate in the program

Step 3: Identify a Mentor
Secure an adult mentor to facilitate and support the teen team

Step 4: Receive Resources
Connected Nation will provide:

  • Training materials (all AT&T Connected Learning courses)

  • Financial incentives (up to $4,000 per team)

  • Mentor support throughout the program
  • Step 5: Plan Workshops
    Your team will organize and execute training sessions using provided materials:

  • Hands-on workshops

  • One-on-one mentorship sessions

  • Virtual sessions

  • Community events
  • Required Materials/Resources Provided:

  • Workshop Materials

  • Flyer and promotional materials

  • Monthly newsletters for ongoing support

  • Instagram community for sharing accomplishments
  • Additional Requirements:

  • Obtain signed releases from participating teens (for potential national posts)
