Overview:
Mini grant program designed to celebrate and incentivize teachers who incorporate sustainability or environmental literacy into their classroom curriculum.

Focus Areas:

• Climate literacy education
• Environmental science and sustainability curriculum
• E-waste and electronics education
• Energy efficiency and renewable energy
• Water conservation
• Environmental health and impacts
• Student-led environmental projects

Eligibility:

• Teachers in Pleasanton Unified School District
• Any grade level (examples include 5th grade through high school AP/advanced courses)
• Any subject area that incorporates sustainability or environmental literacy

Award Details:

• First come, first served basis
• Funds can be used however the teacher chooses
• No budget requirement to apply
• Multiple awards available (17 funded in first year; 50+ additional planned)

• Computer science lessons on e-waste and electronics lifecycle
• Engineering classes conducting home energy audits
• 5th grade science lessons on water footprints
