Overview

Sustain Grant

Status: Currently PAUSED for new applicants

Geographic Scope: Oregon (K-12 school districts, Education Service Districts, and community colleges)

Funding Amount:

  • Up to $5,000 for organizations with less than 500 employees

  • Up to $10,000 for organizations with 500 or more employees
  • Grant Cycle: 1 Year

      Purpose

      This grant is designed to support established well-being programs that, over the past year, have:
    • Active leadership support and dedicated resources
    • An established wellness team
    • Staff feedback, including input from diverse employee groups
    • Well-being opportunities offered to all employees

    Eligible Activities

    Sustain Grants are offered to support the stability and expansion of established well-being programs. With wear and tear, equipment in staff fitness or relaxation rooms may need to be replaced. Staff may request that certain events or celebrations become traditions.

    Some ideas for grant activities:

  • Mini grants to individual sites or departments to meet unique, staff-identified well-being needs

  • Childcare, transportation, or other services that can reduce barriers to participation

  • Additional well-being activities that address new staff needs or interests

  • Replacement or maintenance of equipment in staff lounges, staff fitness rooms, and staff relaxation rooms
    • Eligibility Requirements

    • K-12 school districts, Education Service Districts (ESDs), or community colleges in Oregon
    • Applying on behalf of entire organization, not just a building or department
    • Not registered as a charter school (unless converted from entire public school district)
    • Not currently receiving other grant or benefit funding from Oregon Well-Being Trust
    • Public education employers only (not individuals or unions)
    • Must have established, active well-being program with the criteria listed above

    Background

    The Oregon Well-Being Trust (OEA CHOICE TRUST) supports employer-sponsored wellness programs for public education employees across Oregon. Example: Rainier School District used Sustain Grant to provide walking challenges, yoga classes, equipment for weight rooms, calm rooms, mindfulness programs, and freezer meal classes.
