Our Mission is to make education affordable. Survivor Tuition Benefits The Survivor Tuition Benefits (STB) Program is a scholarship that supports eligible children and surviving spouses of New Jersey firefighters, emergency service workers, and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The award provides students with free tuition at any eligible public or private institution of higher education in New Jersey and pays for enrollment at participating independent institutions in New Jersey to help these students earn a bachelor’s degree. The award amount cannot exceed the highest tuition charged at a New Jersey public institution. Awards are renewable. Scholarships depend on available funding.Eligibility

Students must: Be a child or surviving spouse of a New Jersey firefighter, emergency service worker or law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty Be citizens, eligible non-citizens or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an approved (participating) New Jersey college, university or degree-granting proprietary school during the Fall and/or Spring semester(s) onlySummer term available in limited circumstancesMaintain satisfactory academic progressNot have received the maximum number of payments (8)Eligibility to apply is limited to eight years from the date of the child’s high school graduation, with no time limit to apply for surviving spouses.
