Summer Matters for All Grant Program

A major state grant program to expand access to summer enrichment opportunities for K-12 youth across Vermont. Jointly announced by Governor Phil Scott, Senator Bernie Sanders, and Vermont Afterschool in 2021.

Program Results (2021 round):

• Created 31,650 new summer program slots
• Led to 238 new weeks of summer programming
• Decreased average weekly cost to families by $162

Purpose: To expand the number of weeks and slots, as well as increase affordability and accessibility of summer programs

• Support safe reconnection with peers and communities
