Guiding Principles

The fund operates according to five principles established by the state of Indiana:

• Youth prevention: Invest in initiatives to prevent substance abuse in youth populations
• Racial equity: Ensure equitable access and outcomes in the allocation of funds
• Fair and transparent process: The process will be transparent and inclusive

Eligibility

• Applicants: Nonprofits, healthcare providers, and government agencies
• Service Area: Programs must serve Steuben County residents
• Priority: Evidence-based approaches with measurable outcomes
• Requirements: Proposals must address one or more of the Fund's guiding principles

Advisory Committee

A volunteer Steuben County Substance Abuse Response Fund advisory committee evaluates applications based on specific criteria. The Community Foundation's Board makes final funding decisions.
