Overview
STEM Grant Program
Funder: Rocky Mountain Chapter of AFCEA
Geographic Scope: K-12 teachers in El Paso County, Pueblo, and surrounding communities
Objective: Promote the advancement of technology-related programs and encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, and mathematics.
- Supplies and other science or math-related materials and classroom manipulatives
- Hardware and/or software intended for STEM-related instruction
- Materials for upgrades to existing programs or to start new STEM programs
- STEM kits (robotics, cyber, rocketry, drones, etc.)
- Projects deemed appropriate to further excellence in STEM
Eligible Uses of Funds
Grants may be used to purchase:- Must be a teacher at an accredited school in El Paso County and surrounding communities, including Pueblo
- Identify an appropriate use of funds based on the listed areas
- Submit completed application form with all seven areas fully completed by deadline
- After award, must provide receipts verifying the grant was used for the approved purpose
Eligibility Criteria
- Typical Award Range: $2,000 - $5,000
- No minimum award: No grant request is too small to fund
- Multiple awards per school: Grant awards are not limited to one per school
- Award Ceremony: Mid-May
- Selection Emphasis: Total number of students benefiting from the grant; awards distributed across community from elementary to high school

- Specify what you will purchase
- Explain the benefits your students will receive
- Attachments may be provided with additional detail, such as cost estimates and project designs
2. Expected Cost by Item
- Provide itemized costs
- Itemized costs allow for partial funding if AFCEA Chapter cannot fully fund the total project
3. Special Circumstances (if applicable)
- Describe any special circumstances associated with your request
- Examples: unexpected reduction in funding, emergency repairs/replacement of equipment or supplies, increase in students enrolled in science and math programs
