CoNPS Mission Grant (Colorado Native Plant Society)

Mission Grants fund native-plant projects, with published awards favouring work that has a public education component. Published award amounts range from $125 to $2,411 — $125 to the Longs Peak Science Foundation to sponsor a Junior Level plant science award; $182.90 to a Legend High School teacher to start a 'Native Plants and Environmental Concerns' club; $200 to the Native Plant Master Program in Jefferson County to update the Colorado Plant Database; $500 to Janet Wingate to purchase illustrations for a Carex book; $700 to the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture to print 60,000 copies of a native-plants Colorado Reader for 1,500 Colorado schools; $2,411 to print 1,110 copies of the CoNPS Low Water Gardening Guides. A spring 2022 round funded the Manitou Seed Library (growing and distributing ecotypically appropriate native seed at no cost, with signage and on-site education) and native-shrub restoration at Montessori Peaks Academy in Littleton.
