Overview

Federal funding program for conservation of nongame species and their habitat. Supports proactive conservation measures to prevent species from being listed as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act. Funds can be used to implement Louisiana's State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) or for planning purposes to modify, revise, or update the SWAP. Eligible projects include biological inventories, ecological research projects, habitat assessments, habitat management, and development/maintenance of databases.
