Overview

Description The mission of the Stanly County Community Foundation is to inspire philanthropy and strengthen our community by supporting initiatives that address local needs and providing quality services to donors and constituents. The Board of Advisors supports this mission through an annual competitive grantmaking program. The Foundation is an investor in the community and is interested in creating the highest possible levels of community gain, focused on improving the lives of citizens in Stanly County, NC. Result and Investment Areas: Priority will be given to requests for projects and programs that address the following investment areas: Arts and CultureEducationHealthcareHousingHuman Services Youth The Foundation is primarily interested in projects or programs aligned with the priority investment areas, but funding requests outside of those focus areas will also be considered. Projects and programs which clearly demonstrate their ability to attain measurable results will receive higher consideration. The Board will review each proposal's described evaluation metrics and expected results to decide how to invest the limited dollars of the Foundation. Grant requests are reviewed with the following questions in mind: What results are we investing in for this project?Is it likely this project will achieve these results?Is this the best possible use of funds? Award amounts will be determined based on the merits of the project and the Foundation's available funds. Previous awards have ranged from $1,000 to $5,000, but the board will consider awards up to $8,000. Proposals for larger grant awards are encouraged to identify additional funding sources and partnerships with other organizations.

If the organization conducting the project is not an eligible organization, a grant can be applied for under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.
