NOTE: A nomination is due at the deadline. Stanley C. Israel Regional Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences Purpose To recognize individuals and/or institutions who have advanced inclusion and belonging in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness within the region. Description The Stanley C. Israel Regional Award consists of an award recognition and a $1,250 grant to support and further the activities for which the award was made. The award also includes reimbursement up to $1,500 to cover the recipient’s travel expenses (transportation, accommodations, meeting registration, meals, and two tickets to the award ceremony) to the ACS regional meeting at which the award will be presented.

Eligibility

Nominees may come from academia, industry, government, or independent entities, and may also be organizations, including ACS Local Sections and Divisions. The nominee must belong to the region where their preferred meeting is being held. For example, if the nominee intends to attend the Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM-ACS), they must live in said region.  If you’re not sure which region you’re in, please success this detailed ACS Regions Map.The nominee must have created and fostered ongoing programs or activities that result in increased numbers of persons from diverse and underrepresented historically marginalized groups, persons with disabilities, or women who participate in the chemical enterprise.Self-nominations are allowed.
