Somerset Community Foundation Competitive Grants

The Somerset Community Foundation provides competitive grants to nonprofit programs and organizations that enhance life in Somerset. Focused on community needs, these grants aim to foster economic development, educational opportunities, and revitalization of public spaces. Eligible applicants include public charities, local government divisions, and schools. However, grants are not awarded for lobbying, individual support, or national fund drives. Only one grant per organization is permitted annually, ensuring broad community support.

The Somerset Community Foundation (SCF) grants are awarded to nonprofit programs, projects, and organizations that improve the quality of life in Somerset. Based on community feedback, SCF grants are focused on promoting or improving the following in the Somerset community; economic development, family activities, educational opportunities, revitalization of downtown and green spaces/parks/trails.

Eligibility

Nonprofit programs, projects, and organizations serving the Somerset community.Eligible organization types include:Public charity and has obtained IRS status under Section 501(c) 3Division of local governmentFederally recognized tribal governmentSchool or universityPartnering with an eligible fiscal agentOnly one grant per year will be awarded to an organization.

Ineligibility

Grants are generally not awarded to:Lobbying, political, or religious causes; Individuals; Special fundraising events; Capital fund campaigns; Deficit reduction; and/or National fund drives.
