Overview: This program carries on the Montpelier Foundation's role held since 1994 - to provide funding for bricks-and-mortar projects that make life better in Montpelier.

Award Amount: Most grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000

Total Available Funding (2026): $10,000

Eligibility:

  • Community-focused organizations with Montpelier projects

  • Projects must be bricks and mortar improvements

  • Projects must have a 20-year useful life span

  • Projects must provide long-term public benefits in Montpelier

    • ArtSynergy's installation for the new Transit Center
    • Construction of the Montpelier War Memorial in front of City Hall
    • Makeover of the Montpelier Tennis Courts next to the Montpelier High School
    • Improvement of the community playground on Barre Street (behind the Montpelier Senior Activity Center)
    • Extension of the Montpelier Bike Path
    • Expansion of the press box at Montpelier Recreation Field
    • Reconstruction of the Montpelier Senior Activity Center
    • Installation of the steel bridge over the North Branch of the Winooski river at the North Branch Nature Center
    • The Montpelier Area Mountain Biking Association's work to complete biking trails near the North Branch Nature Center
    • The Montpelier Tree Fund's efforts to address problems associated with the Emerald Ash Borer
    • Lighting upgrade at City Hall plaza
