Small and Rural Hospital Readiness Grant
Status: Program announced April 6th by Governor Bill Lee
Funding Amount: Up to $500,000 per hospital
Total Program Allocation: $10 million in grants
Geographic Scope: Tennessee
Eligible Applicants: Small and rural hospitals in Tennessee
Purpose: Provide immediate financial relief to Tennessee's small and rural hospitals facing unusual and immediate financial pressures due to COVID-19 response. Designed to support facilities considered more vulnerable due to added financial pressures from the pandemic and existing challenges faced by rural communities.
Background: Funding is a result of appropriations made in the FY2021 budget passed by the Tennessee General Assembly and discussions between THA and state officials about urgent needs of small and rural hospitals across Tennessee.
