Single Ventricle Research Fund (SVRF)

The SVRF is an annual research award program focused on accelerating research and improving care for those with single ventricle heart defects through multi-year, high impact grants.

Award Details

• Award Amount: Up to $600,000 for three-year research projects
• Recurrence: Annual
• Geographic Scope: International (based on 2021 awardees from institutions across the US and abroad)

Eligibility

• Research teams pursuing work relevant to single ventricle heart disease and adjacent fields
• Projects addressing identified gaps in understanding mechanisms driving development, growth, and repair of healthy and single ventricle hearts

• 2021 SVRF: 17 grants awarded, $10.5M+ investment, focusing on cardiac developmental pathways and mechanisms
• 2020 SVRF (First Annual): 17 research teams funded, focused on non-invasive interventions and biomarkers with emphasis on multi-disciplinary approaches
