Silver Bay Charitable Fund Grant

Eligible organizations must be classified as charitable and serve residents within designated areas. Examples of funded projects include community arts, housing, and job development programs, focusing on improving the quality of life for underserved populations.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for funding, an organization must:Be classified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or classified as an organization under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code or have a fiscal sponsor classified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or an organization under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code
Be located in or provide services to low-income residents of the Silver Bay Charitable Fund service area, defined as the communities of Silver Bay, Finland, Little Marais, Isabella, Beaver Bay, Murphy City, Cramer and Illgen City. This area is the school service area for Silver Bay.

Ineligibility

The following areas are of low priority and usually will not receive funding:Capital and equipment requests
Ongoing program supportProjects not eligible for funding include:Endowments
Debt retirement
Requests from re-granting organizations for funding for their own grant-making
Fundraising drives or activities
Organizations that work to influence legislation as a substantial part of their purpose
