Sigma/Rosemary Berkel Crisp Research Award Grant

The Sigma/Rosemary Berkel Crisp Research Award supports nursing research focused on women's health, oncology, and pediatrics. This grant aims to empower nurse leaders to improve healthcare globally by funding projects that are ready for implementation. Eligible applicants must be registered nurses with a master's degree and a Sigma membership. Preference is given to those in specific states. The award fosters evidence-based practices and addresses the needs of vulnerable populations.

Research Priorities
Sigma research priorities are as follows: promotion of healthy communities through health promotion, disease prevention and recognition of social, economic and political determinants; implementation of evidence-based practice; targeting the needs of vulnerable populations such as the chronically ill and poor; and capacity development for research by nurses.
Purpose
The Sigma/Rosemary Berkel Crisp grant supports nursing research in the critical areas of women's health, oncology, and pediatrics.
Research Funding
The allocation of funds is based upon a research project that is ready for implementation in the area of women's health, oncology, or pediatrics; the quality of the proposed research, future potential of the application, appropriateness of the research budget, and feasibility of time frame. Funds provided by interest from a gift from The Harry L. Crisp, II and Rosemary Berkel Crisp Foundation to the Sigma Foundation for Nursing's Research Endowment.

Eligibility

The principal investigator(s) should be registered nurses (or country equivalent) with current license (if applicable)Be a member of SigmaHave at least a master's in nursing (or country equivalent).Submit a completed research application package and signed research agreementReady to implement research project when funding is receivedComplete project within one (1) year of funding.Submit to Sigma a final report and submit completed abstract to the Sigma Repository to receive the final grant disbursement, if owed.
