Overview: Annual statewide effort to celebrate cooperative commitment to community by recognizing and rewarding local volunteers who are making a difference. This is the fifth year of the Shine the Light contest.

Award Details

• Total Awards: Three winners, each receiving $3,000 donation
• Award Use: Donation goes to the winner's local charity or nonprofit of choice
• Recognition: Winners featured in September issue of Iowa Electric Cooperative Living magazine and on social media

Geographic Scope

• Nishnabotna Valley REC service area in Iowa
• Statewide program coordinated by Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives of Iowa

Eligibility

• Nominators: Member-consumers and employees of Iowa's electric cooperatives are eligible to nominate
• Nominees: The volunteer being nominated does not need to be a co-op member-consumer
• Minors: May be nominated with consent from parents or legal guardians
• Returning Nominees: Nominees from previous years can be nominated again for another chance to win
