Foundation History

Beginning in 2001, Linda and David Shaheen have devoted their time and energies to advancing the social and physical well being of individuals through support of programs that have a focus on education. It is Linda and David's belief that they can benifit the greatest number of people by empowering them through the dissemination of knowledge and information.

Foundation Goals

Higher Education for Inner City Youth

The Foundation has targeted scholarships for inner city youth in order to help alter the cycle of poverty that exists in their communities. We believe that giving scholarships is not enough to ensure successful graduates. We require our scholarship programs to have a significant mentoring component to help guide students through the complexities of higher education to result in a positive outcome.

AIDS Prevention

One of the Foundation's goals is to help stop the spread of AIDS and sexually transmitted infections through education programs, idealy before a person becomes sexually active. In order to stop the spread of sexually transmitted disease we feel it is vitally important to impart accurate information to youth so they can make good decisions for their future health and well-being.

* Current financial statement including Board of Director's giving record
* Grant request: amount and purpose
