SFS Graduate Student Conservation Research Award Grant

The SFS Graduate Student Conservation Research Award supports outstanding graduate research proposals focused on endangered species, biodiversity, and conservation planning. With up to $1,000 in funding, the award encourages innovative solutions for the conservation of freshwater ecosystems. Eligible applicants include graduate students who have not previously received this award. This initiative aims to enhance scientific understanding and contribute to the restoration of critical aquatic habitats, fostering the next generation of conservation leaders.

The annual Graduate Student Conservation Research Award (GSCRA) provides support to the graduate student that submits the best proposal addressing endangered or threatened species or ecosystems, biodiversity, conservation planning, or supporting or implementing conservation or restoration of an endangered species or ecosystem.
Criteria
The GSCRA consists of one or more awards totaling $1,000 supporting the best graduate student research proposal(s) addressing at least one of the following criteria:
The budget must contain sufficient detail and explanation of how the award will be used.
Living expenses in the field or at a research station; travel to study sites (if via automobile, an allowance of $0.55 (U.S.)/mile may be used to estimate costs); consumable supplies or expendable equipment.

Eligibility

Only graduate students are eligible to apply.Applicants may receive only one GSCRA award during their student career.Project must be on-going or to be initiated upon receipt of award.
You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Applicants must be CURRENT STUDENT members of SFS.

Ineligibility

Students who receive one SFS endowment award will NOT be eligible for other endowment awards in the same year.The following items will not be supported: salaries, manuscript preparation and publication costs.
