SFI Conservation Grants

Overview: The SFI Conservation Grants Program supports collaborative conservation research and projects between SFI-certified organizations and conservation and academic researchers.

Geographic Scope: SFI-certified forests covering more than 350 million acres/140 million hectares

Focus Areas:

  • Conservation research on SFI-certified lands

  • Biodiversity conservation

  • Carbon sequestration

  • Water quality and purification

  • Species recovery and habitat protection

  • Bird conservation

  • Climate-smart forestry
  • Program Structure: Includes a Conservation Impact Sounding Board that engages the conservation community to provide input, direction, and ensure relevance of conservation work across the SFI network

    Key Achievement: The SFI Conservation Grants Program has flourished and fostered collaboration between SFI-certified organizations and conservation and academic researchers. Conservation Impact work measures carbon sequestered, biodiversity maintained or recovered, and water purified on the SFI footprint across certified lands.
