Funding Focus

Serving USA empowers Christian ministries to transform lives through grants supporting work with:

Prisoners and returning citizens

Women in recovery

Military veterans

Current Priority: Funding for new partners prioritizes TUMI (The Urban Ministry Institute) expansion within prison and reentry programs. Organizations not fitting this criteria are asked to withhold Letters of Interest or grant applications at this time.

Geographic Scope

United States only - Organizations must be working with target populations within the USA

Eligibility Requirements

Mission Alignment:

Must be working with prisoners, returning citizens, women in recovery, and/or military veterans

Programs must have a faith-based component

Must exhibit evidence-based results in helping these individuals

Organizational Requirements:

Must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization OR affiliated with a nonprofit organization

Must provide clearly defined budget for proposed project

Must be able to provide evidence of existing program effectiveness (for expansion requests)

Types of Grants Supported

New Programming:

Organizations with pioneering or inventive ideas needing funding to launch programs

Specific metrics can be developed with program partners to evaluate pilot program success

Supercharging Existing Programming:

Organizations with innovative, successful existing programs

Grants allow expansion of program reach in significant ways

Timeline & Award Notifications

• Letter of Intent Deadline: April 30th (for first-time applicants)
• Grant Request Deadline: July 1st (current/former partners) and August 1st (approved LOI first-timers)
• Review Period: Throughout the year
• Decision Month: September
• Notification: End of October each year
• Funding Disbursement: Quarterly distributions beginning January of following calendar year (even distributions)
