Overview

Seeding Leaders Grants

Status: Past program (deadline was January 17, 2022)

Purpose: Support the wellness, leadership, and/or professional development of nonprofit leaders, with focus on leaders from underrepresented identities.

Geographic Scope: Kalamazoo County and Battle Creek, Michigan

Target Populations: Leaders who identify as:

  • Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC)

  • Individuals with disabilities

  • LGBTQIA+

  • Immigrants
  • Eligible Uses:

  • Conferences

  • Executive coaching

  • Leadership/nonprofit management credentials

  • College courses

  • Paid time off for rest and recovery

  • Healthcare costs

  • Reimbursement of personal resources utilized for professional/leadership development in the past two years
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Individual must have documented affiliation with an organization

  • Organization must have 501(c)(3) status (IRS-determined) or fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status

  • Organization annual budget must be less than $250,000

  • Organization must serve individuals within Kalamazoo County and/or Battle Creek
  • Number of Grants: 10 mini-grants available
