SEAL Scholarship - Returning Students

The SEAL Scholarship for returning students rewards continuing students who volunteer, mentor, and take initiative in leadership roles. Success within the academic context and experiences beyond the classroom are vital to discovering purpose.

Eligibility

• Applicants: Currently enrolled students at CCCB
• Online Students: Not eligible for returning student awards
• Status: Must be enrolled full-time (12+ hours)
• Renewal: Scholarships renew each year if students maintain an institutional GPA of 2.0 and end the semester with no disciplinary probation

Award Categories

Service (Up to $1,000/year)

• One year of participation in regular, scheduled service
• Qualifying activities: Mission trip, Chapel service, Traveling team, Church service, Community service, Student-led ministry
• Residential: $1,000
• Commuter: $500

Experience (Up to $1,000/year)

• Participation in at least one qualifying experience
• Qualifying activities: Holy Land trip, Archaeology dig, Next Gen Preacher Search (top 20), Personal chapel reflections (24/year, 12/semester)
• Residential: $1,000
• Commuter: $500

Academics (Varies)

• President's Award: High School or College GPA > 3.5
• Dean's Award: High School or College GPA > 3.0
• Students may apply for one academic award adjustment during their entire CCCB career
• See incoming student section for maximum amounts

Leadership (Up to $1,000/year)

• One year as a CCCB leader in qualifying areas
• Qualifying roles: Student Council, Mission trip leadership, Chapel leadership, Student-led ministry, Discipler
• Residential: $1,000
• Commuter: $500

Key Guidelines

• Residency and modality changes affect award amounts
• Online students are not eligible for returning student awards
• Returning students are limited to only one award in each category during enrollment at CCCB
• Award amounts are annual and are not disbursed in summer session
• Students must complete an application each summer
• Renewal requires maintaining institutional GPA of 2.0 and avoiding disciplinary probation

Application Process

1. Submit Application: Apply using the SEAL Returning Student Application each summer
2. Verify Activities: Ensure all activities are verified to have occurred appropriately
3. Single Award per Category: Returning students are limited to only one award in each category during enrollment at CCCB
4. Academic Appeals: One academic level appeal allowed during entire CCCB career
5. Full-Time Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time (12+ hours)
6. Annual Renewal: Must maintain institutional GPA of 2.0 and have no disciplinary probation

Required Materials

• Evidence/verification of service participation
• Documentation of qualifying experience participation
• High school or college transcript for academic awards
• Documentation of leadership roles at CCCB
• Current CCCB transcript for GPA verification

Submission Details

• Annual application required (submit each summer)
• Disbursement: Annual amounts not disbursed in summer session
• Renewal based on maintaining 2.0 institutional GPA and clean disciplinary record
