    The Foundation's peer-reviewed research grants program prioritizes scientific merit and provides funding for established investigators conducting scleroderma research. The program uses the same merit-based scoring system as the National Institutes of Health.

    Background

    Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has committed over $30 million to advancing medical research in scleroderma. In 2021, the Foundation more than doubled its research funding commitment to $2.723 million annually and increased individual award amounts by $50,000 to $200,000 per grant.
