School Breakfast Grants (Kellogg Partnership)

• Overcoming barriers to breakfast access and participation

Program Impact (as of 2017-2018):

• 40 school districts and more than 175 schools funded
• Over 23 million new breakfasts served
• 153,770 hungry/undernourished students reached
• Average 39% increase in breakfast participation

Research-Based Benefits:

• Children who start day with breakfast do better in school
• Breakfast kick-starts metabolism, energy, and focus for learning
• Addresses gap: less than half of lunch participants also participate in breakfast (as of 2016)

Kellogg's Breakfasts for Better Days Signature Cause:

• Global program fighting hunger and feeding potential
• Over 1.9 billion servings of cereal and snacks provided worldwide

1. School districts and schools submit applications
2. Applications reviewed for eligibility and program alignment
3. Recipients notified
4. Technical support provided throughout grant period
