Overview

NOTE: Applications received before January 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1 will be eligible for consideration at the first meeting of the Foundation following those dates. Purpose The Foundation was incorporated by Kilian J. and Caroline F. Schmitt in 1990, principally to provide support for non-profit organizations in which they developed interests during their lifetimes. The greater Rochester area has benefitted greatly from grants for endowed professorships, capital improvements and additions, medical and other scientific research, symposia and music. The Foundation has funded capital projects to assist those in need, from disabled and developmentally challenged individuals to the lives of the elderly. The Foundation has made capital grants in support of independent secondary schools and for health care facilities equipment.
