Application Process

Deadline: February 1 and July 1
Notification: Applicants notified of selection by May 1 and October 1, respectively

#### Submission Format

#### Required Application Documents

1. Online Application Form including:
- Principal Investigator's name, phone number(s), email address
- Complete mailing address
- University/institution
- Graduate department or school
- Project title
- Abstract (may be entered into form field or uploaded)

2. Proposal Narrative (Maximum 10 double-spaced pages, not including references):
- Statement of the problem and specific research aims
- Background literature
- Research design & methods (including measures and data analysis plan)
- Significance of the proposed study
- References included in same file

3. Copies of Measures:
- Combine all measures into one file
- Upload through online application

4. Letters of Agreement:
- From any partnering organizations (if applicable)
- Upload each letter or combine all into one file

5. Institutional Review Board (IRB) Approval:
- Evidence of IRB approval required
- Obtaining prior to application increases chances of funding
- Upload through online application

6. Timeline:
- For proposed study identifying key tasks
- Upload through online application

7. Project Budget:
- Upload through online application

8. Curriculum Vitae:
- Doctoral student PI and research team members
- Upload as separate files or combine into one file

#### Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:

1. Degree to which proposed study addresses Foundation's priority areas (combat trauma, depression, children & adolescents)
2. Overall methodological quality of proposed research
3. Potential significance of study for building knowledge in EMDR practice
4. Feasibility of proposed study and applicant's ability to complete it
