Common Scholarship Application Achieve your Higher Education Dreams In just one application, our Common Scholarship Application provides students access to more than 150 scholarship opportunities with awards ranging from $1,000 to more than $5,000. In 2025, San Diego Foundation awarded a record-breaking $5.5 million in scholarships to nearly 1,400 students.

Athena ScholarshipAthena Scholarship applicants should:Be graduating San Diego County high school seniors, with a focus on advancing gender equity in S.T.E.M. career Plan to enroll at an accredited four-year university in the United States in fal Plan to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematicsBe United States citizens or permanent residentsHave a demonstrated commitment to serving their community Have a demonstrated financial needWho Should Apply?Even if you’re not a straight-A, star athlete or student body president, we have scholarship opportunities if you have:Commitment to your educationPotential for success in collegeMinimum GPA of 2.0Participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experienceCurrent residence in San Diego County (for at least one year)Need of help to pay for school (including middle-income families)Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act are required to apply.

Ineligibility

None of our scholarships are available to foreign students studying outside the United States, or for students attending an institution outside of the United States.
