About Us Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization classified as a publicly supported 501(c) (3) charity under the Internal Revenue Code. We are governed by a community-based, volunteer board of directors and administered by professional staff. We serve the counties of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates in the Southern Tier of New York State. Scholarships for High School Students and Adult Learners If you are a high school senior or adult who lives in Upstate New York or Northern Pennsylvania you may be eligible for a scholarship from the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes. Individuals, families and companies have established funds at the foundation for educational scholarships so that deserving neighbors can attend college or acquire job skills. At the Community Foundation, we believe that cost should not be a barrier to continued education. We find that philanthropic funds are most beneficial when used to broaden opportunity and access to post-secondary education and are here to help you navigate the process. Community Foundation Scholarships for STEUBEN COUNTY HIGH School Students Ruth Young Climate Justice Scholarship DESCRIPTION: Awarded to a student studying (but not limited to) environmental science, environmental studies, climate science, climate justice, green architecture, solar/wind technologies, building or design of sustainable heating/cooling systems. Student must have a GPA of 78 or better.
