Ruth Young Climate Justice Scholarship Grant

The Ruth Young Climate Justice Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc., supports high school graduates from Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga counties pursuing studies in environmental sciences and related fields. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 78 or higher. This scholarship emphasizes the importance of education in fostering climate justice and sustainability, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to higher education opportunities.

NOTE: In order to apply for the scholarship, you must first submit the "General Scholarship Application". Once submitted, you will be matched to scholarships you are eligible for that require additional information.
Scholarships for High School Students and Adult Learners
If you are a high school senior or adult who lives in Upstate New York or Northern Pennsylvania you may be eligible for a scholarship from the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes.
Individuals, families and companies have established funds at the foundation for educational scholarships so that deserving neighbors can attend college or acquire job skills.

Community Foundation Scholarships for STEUBEN COUNTY HIGH School Students
DESCRIPTION: Awarded to a student studying (but not limited to) environmental science, environmental studies, climate science, climate justice, green architecture, solar/wind technologies, building or design of sustainable heating/cooling systems. Student must have a GPA of 78 or better.
