Eligibility:

  • Awards provided to public or non-profit intermediaries (not directly to businesses or individuals)

  • Must be locally-based and skilled in business development and job creation

  • Recipients must obtain matching funds (which doubles the impact of grants)
  • Program Description:
    RCDI helps community-based development organizations, federally recognized Indian tribes and other groups promote economic development in low-income, rural communities. BDCC received $230,000 to develop economic development capacity in the Windham and Bennington County regions of Southern Vermont.

    Use of Funds:

  • Regional capacity development to support economic development across Windham and Bennington counties

  • Workforce training, retention, recruitment initiatives

  • Sustainable business investment support

  • Improve capacity within partner organizations to serve economically challenged small towns

  • Increased awareness of CEDS initiatives and strategies across Southern Vermont
