Cooperative Internship Program

Program Description:
Placement program for collegiate students in paid internships with Windham County businesses. The program is available to all collegiate students regardless of affiliation with the Six Colleges.

Program Outcomes:

• Over 50 students placed since inception
• 20% of participants who completed internships transitioned to full-time employment
• Paid internship model improves performance, responsibility, and dedication
• Provides employers with "trial run" with potential employees

Key Features:

• All internships are paid positions (central to program success)
• Removes financial barrier for students choosing between work and education
• Benefits employers through low-risk talent evaluation

Students:

• Must have attended college-level course in last 18 months
• No affiliation with Six Colleges required

Employers:

• Opportunity must be paid
• Location must be within Windham County
