Rotary Club of Clearwater Charity Grant

Since 1925, the Rotary Club of Clearwater has been devoted to supporting local charities and improving the quality of life in the community through an annual charity grant process.

Funding Source: The club maintains a charity endowment with a principle of over $1.2 million. Grant funds come from endowment earnings, fundraising efforts, and members' annual contributions.

Geographic Scope: Clearwater, Florida area (local community)

What They Fund:

• Capital projects
• Equipment
• Programs addressing defined community needs

What They Do NOT Fund:

• Salaries or operating expenses
• Programs that supplant normal operating budgets

Funding Restrictions:

• Funding is limited to three (3) consecutive years to any one recipient agency
• Grant funds may not be used to supplant normal operating budgets

Evaluation Criteria:

1. Is a defined community need addressed?
2. Is the funding request for a capital project, equipment or program?
3. Can the Rotary Club of Clearwater have a significant impact on solving this need?
4. If awarded, how will recognition be given to the Rotary Club of Clearwater?
5. Have you previously been funded by the Rotary Club of Clearwater?

Selection Process: The Charities Selection Committee reviews applications and conducts site visits and in-person interviews as part of the selection process.

• Applications reviewed during April and May
• Grant awards announced subsequent to review
• Site visits and in-person interviews conducted

Required Materials:

1. Organization legal name
2. Complete address and contact information
3. Contact person name, phone, and email
4. Organization website
5. Financial statement (required; accepted formats: jpg, pdf; max 5 MB)
6. Copy of IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter (required; accepted formats: jpg, pdf; max 5 MB)
7. IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN)
8. Optional supporting documents (max 5 files, 5 MB each)

Required Information to Provide:

1. Estimated total cost of project
2. Requested amount from Rotary Club
3. Proposed start date (MM/DD/YYYY format)
4. Proposed end date (MM/DD/YYYY format)
5. Number of individuals impacted by the funded program (excluding employees or volunteers)
6. Detailed description of the community problem or need addressed by the program
7. Detailed breakdown of spending intent:
   • Specify each need
   • Indicate if funding source is Rotary Club or alternative sources (other grants, corporate support, etc.)
8. Certification statement signed by authorized representative
9. Authorized signatory name, title, and phone number
10. Optional: Name of Rotarian recommending the application

Certification: Applicant must certify that all information and supporting materials are true and correct.
