Roots & Shoots Mini-Grants

Program Overview:
Since 2014, the Roots & Shoots mini-grant program has awarded over 500 grants to Roots & Shoots groups in the United States.

Geographic Scope: United States; expanded support in 2016 to Title 1 schools in Los Angeles County, Colorado, and New York City

Focus Areas:

• Youth-led service-learning campaigns
• Environmental and community action projects
• Implementation of Roots & Shoots 4-step model

• Roots & Shoots groups
• Members of all ages encouraged to apply

Application Process

1. Project Planning: Groups use the Roots & Shoots 4-step model to create youth-led service-learning campaigns

3. Application Submission: Members of all ages are encouraged to apply
4. Fund Usage: Groups use the funds to help implement their projects and celebrate accomplishments
5. Reporting: Mini-grant reports are due in the spring of each year
