Program Overview

The IMPACT FUND is the first initiative created by the Foundation's Board of Directors and is designed as a "Donor Advised Fund." The majority vote of the Foundation membership present at the Annual Corporate Meeting decides the designee of the grant. Foundation members select and direct a significant grant amount to a worthy nonprofit organization on an annual basis.

2026 Focus Area

Theme: "Bridging Education and Community Service to empower youth in the Black Community"

In various communities, systemic barriers exist that affect Black youth in both academics and athletics. The grant targets nonprofit organizations that focus on kindergarten through 12th-grade students to promote a holistic approach, combining education and physical development with clear, measurable outcomes in:

• Academic performance
• Leadership skills
• Physical fitness

By focusing on community-based initiatives, the grant fosters pride in and connection to heritage, aligning with priorities of equity, inclusion, and access.

Eligibility

• Applicant Type: 501(c)(3) Organizations or International equivalents
• Geographic Scope: Not explicitly restricted; appears to support national and international organizations
• Focus: Nonprofit organizations serving kindergarten through 12th-grade students
• Requirements:
  • Organizations must be nominated by a Foundation Life Member
  • All applications must be submitted online
  • Applications must address every area of the form

Award Details

• Amount: $25,000
• Presentation: Grant will be presented at an event coordinated by the receiving organization

Selection Process

• The IMPACT FUND Committee (IFC) reviews and vets all completed applications
• Committee identifies a slate of top finalists (typically 4) for Foundation membership vote
• Timeline: Committee aims to have top four applications available for Foundation membership review by March 31, 2026
• Finalists are required to submit a two-minute organizational narrative video
• Final vote occurs at the 2026 Annual Meeting of OLMF

Selection Timeline

• December 31, 2025: Application deadline
• March 31, 2026: IMPACT FUND Committee aims to have top four applications available for Foundation membership review
• Post-March 31, 2026: Finalist organizations submit two-minute organizational narrative video
