Overview

rootEd Alliance launched in 2018 to address the most challenging obstacles to success after high school for students in rural America with advice, exposure and access to financial resources. The mission of rootEd Alliance is to clear a path to a stronger future for students in rural America. A collaborative philanthropic effort, rootEd Alliance grew out of a collective belief in the power of education to change lives and an understanding of the unique needs of rural America. The rootEd Undergraduate Scholarship is dedicated to improving postsecondary education opportunities for high school seniors from eligible high schools in rural Missouri and Idaho. This renewable scholarship, up to $12,000 annually, may be used at an accredited, nonprofit four-year college or university. Qualifying students may be funded through graduation or a maximum of ten semesters.

Eligibility

To be eligible to be considered for this scholarship you must: Be a graduating high school senior, from an eligible high school, planning to enter college as an incoming freshman in the 2025-2026 academic year. Plan to enroll in a bachelor’s degree-granting program at an accredited, nonprofit college or university Have earned a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average while in high school Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or similar need calculations. Applicants with a Student Aid Index (SAI) over $17,500 must have significant and extenuating circumstances to be considered.

Ineligibility

Ministry and divinity degrees, are ineligible for funding.
