Ron Whalen Scholarship

Overview: A scholarship program established in 2024 awarding college scholarships to family members of Coal Institute members.

Background: Named after honorary member Ron Whalen, who devoted many years to The Coal Institute. The Institute launched this new program in 2024 and plans to continue it for many years.

Award Amount: Two $2,500 college scholarships awarded annually
