Robert Stempel Scholarship Grant

The Robert Stempel Memorial Scholarship, established by Mrs. Patricia A. Stempel, provides financial support for students from select Detroit high schools pursuing careers in science and engineering. Eligible applicants must demonstrate academic excellence with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and show financial need. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, and other educational expenses, ensuring that dedicated students can pursue their educational goals without financial burden.

The purpose of the Robert Stempel Memorial Scholarship is to provide educational scholarship support for students at selected Detroit high schools, including Cass Technical High School, Detroit School of Arts, Renaissance High School, University Prep Science and Math High School and University Prep High School.
Background
Mrs. Patricia A. Stempel established the Robert Stempel Memorial Scholarship to provide college financial support for the students of select Detroit high schools who plan a career in science and/or engineering.
Payments are limited to tuition and fees, books and supplies and room and board expense. The Robert Stempel Memorial Scholarship is a one-time award.

Eligibility

Seniors at the following Detroit high schools: Cass Technical High School, Detroit School of Arts, Renaissance High School, University Prep Science and Math High School, University Prep High School.Demonstrate potential for achievement in post-secondary science and engineeringStrong scholastic performance while in high school with an equivalent of a 3.0 or better grade point average (4.0 scale)Extracurricular activities that involve science and engineeringDemonstrate financial need (Pell Grant eligible).

Ineligibility

Employees of the Foundation and the high schools listed, members of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, and their dependents, members of the selection committee and their dependents are  ineligible for scholarship consideration.
