Muskingum County Community Foundation Mission & Vision The Mission of the Muskingum County Community Foundation is to improve quality of life in the community by nurturing opportunities and serving needs through collaboration and philanthropy. The Envisioned Future of the Muskingum County Community Foundation is that Muskingum County’s quality of life attracts organizations and people to pursue their dreams and practice their passions. Since its founding, MCCF has awarded more than $8 million to local charities and currently has over $22 million in assets. Richard Clark Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is given in memory of Richard A. Clark (Rich). Rich moved to Zanesville in grade school where he attended Maysville Local and then Zanesville High School. After high school, Rich attended OU-Zanesville, and OU where he earned his Bachelor's in Education. After college he taught for Zanesville City Schools, where he served as Junior/Senior Class Advisor, Ski Club Advisor and Head Swim Coach. Rich was involved in Scouting for 60 plus years. As a Boy Scout he earned Arrow of Light and Eagle Scout. He also served on staff at MVSR as Aquatics Director, and Camp Director at Leatherwood. Through adult life, he was an adult leader for Pack 100, Pack 158 and Troop 158, helping 30 scouts earn their Eagle, including both his sons. In his spare time, he taught swim lessons in Zanesville for 50 years to over 10,000 residents in the local area. He also was a water safety instructor. He taught and certified many teenagers and adults as lifeguards through the Red Cross.

Eligibility

Open to any graduate of any High School in Muskingum County that has a 2.5 or higher GPA Applicant must have been on their High School Swim Team and/or participating in scouts. Student may be planning to attend any form of postsecondary schooling (2-year college, 4-year college, technical or career school)
