Retail Incentive Grants (Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority)

Retail Incentive Grants aim to diversify Downtown's street-level business mix by fostering entrepreneurship and attracting business types not currently offered. Applicants must be business owners new to Downtown or expanding/relocating; resident-serving types such as cuisine, wellness/fitness or retail not currently offered are particularly appropriate. This grant is offered by the Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority (DDA), a quasi-governmental taxing district whose work is executed by Downtown Partnership staff; Downtown Partnership is also the management company for Downtown Ventures (this funder record, Colorado Springs Community Ventures Inc). DDA grants are funded from a 5-mill levy and Tax Increment Financing; all funded projects must align with the Elevate Downtown Plan, and the 11-member DDA board decides grants at its monthly meeting (second Tuesday).
