Downtown Building Enhancement Grants (Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority)

Building Enhancement Grants supplement or match funds for exterior improvement projects on existing buildings within the DDA boundary - higher-quality materials, lighting, signage and facade elements, public-safety improvements around the building, public-realm enhancements such as landscaping or seating, and new public art. This grant is offered by the Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority (DDA), a quasi-governmental taxing district whose work is executed by Downtown Partnership staff; Downtown Partnership is also the management company for Downtown Ventures (this funder record, Colorado Springs Community Ventures Inc). DDA grants are funded from a 5-mill levy and Tax Increment Financing; all funded projects must align with the Elevate Downtown Plan, and the 11-member DDA board decides grants at its monthly meeting (second Tuesday).
