Restart NY Regrants

Funder: New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), administered by Arts Services Inc. (ASI)

Program Status: This was a time-limited program for COVID-19 recovery. Applications closed September 30, 2021.

Geographic Scope: Erie and Niagara counties, New York

Focus Areas:

  • In-person live performance projects

  • Projects featuring public programs or presentations

  • Performing arts activities including music, dance, and theatre

  • Other in-person public arts-based activities and events (if performing arts funding exhausted)
  • Award Amounts: $500 - $5,000 per applicant

    Eligibility:

  • Current Statewide Community Regrant (SCR) partners (formerly known as DEC or Decentralization sites)

  • One proposal per applicant only

  • In-person performances and events occurring between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022
  • Restrictions:

  • At least 60% of award must be restricted to compensation for artistic/creative professionals

  • Proposed performances and events cannot have been financially supported by any other government grant (DEC, NYSCA, or NEA support)

  • Information sessions held both virtually and in-person

  • One-on-one consultations available

  • ASI office has WiFi and limited laptops available for applicants without technology access

  • Grant writing tips provided

  • Spanish language translation available upon request
