Responsive Grants

The CFNRV Responsive Grant Program responds to ongoing or emergent community needs as recognized by area nonprofits serving those needs directly.

Geographic Scope: Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and Wythe counties, and the city of Radford, Virginia

Eligibility:

• Registered 501(c)(3) organizations
• Units of local government (schools, libraries, etc.)
• Serving the New River Valley region

Funding Focus:

• General operating support grants
• Flexible use of grant dollars at grantee's discretion
• Support for core operating expenses of high-performing organizations

Award Details: Up to $4,000 per grant

Program Notes:

• Responsive Grants are made from CFNRV's numerous endowed funds created by individuals, businesses, and families
• In 2020, CFNRV introduced an online grant catalog allowing endowed fund holders to support grants using a simple online tool
• Last year, an additional $10,000 in support from the public came through the grant catalog
• Over $150,000 in responsive grants were awarded in 2020
