Respiratory Therapist Program

Problem Addressed:
Employment of respiratory therapists is projected to grow 23% from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. There is currently a significant shortage of Respiratory Therapists throughout Morton Plant Mease hospitals.

Program Description:
The program strengthens partnership with St. Pete College (SPC) to enhance enrollment in respiratory therapist education.

Grant Uses:

  • Provide tuition reimbursement for up to 10 graduates

  • Fund one clinical instructor with exclusive focus on overseeing and coordinating Respiratory Therapist student education
  • Award Amount: $20,000 (last awarded 2023)
