Research Partnership Kickstart Travel Grants

The Company of Biologists offers Research Partnership Kickstart Travel Grants to support junior faculty in initiating research collaborations. Grants, up to £2,000, facilitate travel to partner institutions, enabling the development and submission of major grant applications for collaborative research. Important deadlines include June 5, 2026, and November 27, 2026, with decisions taking up to four weeks after the deadline. This initiative aims to inspire and strengthen connections within the biological community.

The Company of Biologists and Journal of Experimental Biology are offering Research Partnership Kickstart Travel Grants to support junior faculty staff (e.g. Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Group Leader, Principal Research Investigator) to travel to another institution (University, Research Centre, Non-Governmental Organisation or Industry Partner Organisation) to initiate a new research partnership and develop, write and submit a major grant application for collaborative research. Each grant is a maximum of £2,000 (or currency equivalent) and is to be used towards travel to the collaborator’s Institution, University, Research Centre, etc, and accommodation and subsistence during the visit.
