Region VIII Scholarship Grant

The Region VIII Scholarship, offered by ASHRAE, is a one-year award for undergraduate pre-engineering or engineering students attending accredited institutions within Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico. Eligible applicants must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 or rank in the top 30% of their class. Scholarships support students pursuing degrees related to HVAC&R, fostering future leaders in sustainable built environments.

A one-year scholarship available annually to a qualified undergraduate pre-engineering or engineering student attending a post-secondary educational institution within the geographic boundaries of ASHRAE Region VIII (Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico) and meets the general criteria. *Parts of these states are not within the geographic boundaries of Region VIII.  Contact ASHRAE headquarters for information regarding eligible schools in these areas.
Scholarships are available to full-time undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a course of study that has traditionally been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession at a school.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and meet at least one of the following criteria:The institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch ASHRAE Student Branches orThe program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)The program is accredited by the Consejo de Acreditacion de la Ensenanza de la Ingenieria (CACEI)
